Education
| To benefit Australia we will educate and train
people in world leading light metals technology |
CAST aims to benefit Australia
by educating people in world leading light metals technology and
by encouraging the professional development of CAST personnel. CAST
provides support for students at school, TAFE, undergraduate and
postgraduate levels to interact with researchers at the cutting
edge of developments in light metals technology, to access world
class facilities and to gain valuable industry experience. The skills
and intellectual property embodied in these people will contribute
to the expansion of Australia's competitive, vertically integrated
light alloy industry. CAST is also committed to encouraging both
the professional and personal development of its personnel. Hence
CAST offers a range of programs to enhance opportunities for our
students and our research and support staff to expand their skills
and confidence.
The recent independent review of CAST commended
the Centre on many aspects of its education and staff development
program commenting on the "high quality of the research training
component and the contribution of the students to the Centre's strategic
research".
