| Supporting the Die Casting Industry |
Supported by The
Australian Die Casting Association
The Die Casting Best Practice project builds upon
established best practice methodologies. Supporting die casting
companies to adopt world class manufacturing practices will increase
manufacturing efficiency. Increased efficiency is gained by identifying
and then minimising or eliminating process issues that result in
scrap product, rework and wastage of manufacturing inputs (raw materials,
energy, labour). As an outcome, companies are more financially competitive
and environmental impacts are reduced.
In addition, participation in the program provides
associate membership to CAST, enabling companies to benefit from
CAST's activities.
Information Sheet - Die Casting Best Practice Project
Participating Companies
Participating companies include:
The Program
The program consists of the following elements:
Benchmarking
-
identify current levels of performance
- raise awareness
- identify areas of high performance and improvement opportunities
Improvement Cycle
- preparing an improvement plan
structured for success
- implementing plans
- technical support
Die Casting Network
- exchange of non-competitive
knowledge, ideas, practices and improvement opportunities
With the individual improvement phase, organisations
have been able to introduce quality systems, conduct computer modelling
of components, dies and processes, remove production bottlenecks,
reduce energy usage and reduce cycle times.
